During the last few months my connection and addiction to the game became weaker and weaker…. After the first 5-6  really entertaining months after ther reset , the game feels like going down… deeper and deeper every month. Ramos Gameworld reminds the last months before reset where the Gameworld seemed like a doomed planet. And the question is what is the next step from now? Another Reset maybe? Or SI should take immediate action to save the promising and really decent project?

The thing is that active old fml players like me (almost 3 years taking into account my beta experience ) are disheartened and this is definitely a great disadvantage for  the game right now.. Its really bad to see people who had been strongly supporters of the game leave it for good…

I really miss the time when I used to log in and see 150+ active managers  online(average number),playing , trading , chatting… Now the pick is hardly 60-70 and the majority of them are crawling like ghosts in a database without having to do many things. Especially the ones of the established teams (like me).Market is half dead , the real challenges are not around , no real progression to anything…. This game used to be really different .With alive blogs across the globe , busy portals , podcasts etc etc… Now you can hardly speak with any manager at the lobby…

So for me , its time to close any parallel actions related with fml like this blog (which as you can see from the posts per month was not so active lately and this is a fact that came as a result of the constant fall of the game…).

SHOW MUST NOT GO ON for me…. as there are not many things to say through this blog + its not so fun anymore as I think that there is not much interest for many readers as well..

Regarding my gameplay…. well i m a casual user for long time now  and i will retain my subscription in Ramos just to sign in for some minutes here and there ,speak with any of the old buddies that will remain active , work some of my favorite tactics for fun  (if i feel like it) and be close to any possible changes … if there will be any. Of course this will not be forever…. if the game will remain in the same condition the next 3-4 monts … then Barcalonika will be a total history….it is the last chance i give to this project even if i completely loved it…

So just before I close the blog , I am leaving you with a final update of Barcalonika… as a last minute bonus :)

After the last season triumph winning the Premier and the Champions Cup , I made some critical roster changes to try some wingerless tactics just for fun . Household wingers Oviedo and Tiago Da Silva sold , while World Beater Striker Augusto also left. However I decided to bring two of my favorite players back , Andrej Kramaric and one of the best regens of GW Olexandr Tkachuk. Additionally I singed one of my biggest targets from season 3 when he was revealed as a regen Walter Leon. From now on the game will be a casual Beta experiment for me just to keep an alive connection for some months till my final retirement decision.

IT WAS A GOOD GAME and GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

It seems that Barcalonika’s inheritance in Keane is justified in Ramos season by season. Yesterday night in a thrilling final Barca won their 2nd Champions Cup in their Ramos history against fellow manager Dimitris Tarifas of Antartis FC in Holland , Amsterdam Arena. It was a really touching game with lot of tense and great moments.. Worth saying that after a long time the Gameworld experienced a “crowdy” final as more than 20 managers had been online to see the big game …

THE MAGIC START

Some seconds after referee’s first whistle , the new signing of Barcalonika Brazilian Bomber Augusto scored the first goal of the final. 8 perfect passes resulted in placing Augusto in the area , and he did what he knows … placed the ball into Antartis net…

12 minutes after the first shock , Antartis faced the rage of the other Brazilian wonderstriker of Barca , their natural scoring leader Marcio Da Silva who scored a powerful header after a perfect corner kick of set pieces specialist Gianni Tagliatella.

THE ITALIAN KARMA

6 minutes after the 2-0 , it was Tagliatella again who fired up BARCALONISTAS in the Amsterdam Arena… A class free kick from close to 35 yards away made the 3-0 in the 19′ minute …. It was a free kick that was pretty alike the one that Barcalonika’s Keane Legend , italian wonderer Orlando had scored back in the old days of Ramos , when Barcalonika won their 2nd Champions Cup there… Many BARCALONISTAS believed that the sign was crystal clear ….. faith was black and white.

THE POTENTIAL COME BACK

However , G.Wise knew that Antartis wont give up… Dimitris was a tough manager and even after a 0-3 in the 19th minute he will try to change the things around. And there it was … in the 37th minute of the final it was Sedlacek who scored an easy shot from the 6 yard area after a decent team combination…

The second half was a nightmare start for Barcalonika… a penalty in the 52′ minute and a red card for one of the best of Barcalonika till that minute , Midfield Anchorman Juan Pablo Perreyra. Barca would have to face Antartis with 10 men for the rest of the game …. and the time was really critical. However , turkish DC Ufuk missed the penalty sending the ball to the post of De Bruin , and BARCALONISTAS felt that this was one more sign that the cup will be delivered to them in the end of the game.

Barcalonika even with 10 men manage to balance the game , Antartis never pushed so much , losing 2-3 clear cut chances with Augusto who played alone in the attack ,after quick counterattacks.Osvaldo just scored a consolidation goal in the 92′ minute

THE ROAD TO THE FINAL

A relatively easy qualification from the group phase for Barcalonika even if the team started badly with 2 defeats . However in the knockout phase , Barcalonika was simply named as the strong favorites! Hammering 1-8 18 reputation Blackpool Lights was the first proof that Barca would be the primary contender of the cup. After this an outstanding 3-6 against Les Avengers got Barca in the Semi where they did not let a single chance to Japan of J.Mourinho with a clear 3-0.

THE BRAZILIAN DUO

The first one Augusto , put his name in the Champions Cup history with the quicker goal ever scored in a final (1′ minute). G. Wise signed him two days before the final , spending 4M for him in order to cover the injury of Russian Petrov who was sold to raise the funds for Augusto… Augusto just paid it back !

The second one , Marcio Da Silva , was the ultimate M.V.P. of season 10 for the club. 49 goals in 49 matches (+25 assists) with an average of 8 is an overall performance that BARCALONISTAS never experienced from another player not even during the golden era of Ramos Gameworld. Brazilian tank was simply unstoppable , justifying the effort of G.Wise to sign him 3 seasons ago from fellow manager Pete Griffiths of B.V.I Royals.

After a remarkable finish with 6 straight wins and 1 draw and 1 defeat in the last 8 games , Barcalonika manage to lift the trophy of TFA Premiership in their 2nd season in the league. The club lost season 9 title for 3 points and everybody believed that this season had to be the one for them.

By far the best attack of the league with 75 goals Barcalonika proved to be the most attractive team of TFA Premier. Marcio Da Silva was the first scorer in the league with 32 goals in 30 appearences while his fellow  enthusiastic winger Tiago da Silva was one of the major key factors as he had an overall performance of 7.5 with 10 goals and 15 assists.

This was the last TFA Premier in Ramos Gameworld as the Traditional Football Assosciation will close and the members will have to be transferred to other Associations . Barcalonika will probably be a part of Vintage Association next year , trying to win one more Premier in a different Association (Classic and Traditional for now.)

It seems that the club is ready for big things this season after the roster changes that came through in mid-season. 3 wins in the 3 first matches in Premier and two easy qualifications in UFFA World Cup and TFA Cup , however the most important game was the 3rd one against Premier Challengers and holders Wornesh Wonderers.

The club which manage to win last year’s Premier due to the ugly finish of Barcalonika in the last 5 games , came in Nuevo Toumba Arena to prove their quality. However , G.Wise’s boyz never seem to lose this one!

An easy 4-1 domination with our tanker MARCIO DA SILVA scoring a HAT-TRICK!

The new faces of the first eleven Gourcuff , Tiago Da Silva ( a wonderkid AMRL) and Canales (an attacking DL that came to fill Oliseh shoes who was sold) seem to be the perfect puzzle pieces to help G.Wise apply a Barcelona-like type of play. An attacking /flexible 4-1-2-2-1 with high pressing and lot of passing game.

Vuk and Gourcuff play the role of Iniesta and Xavi , while the 3 attackers Oviedo and the two Da Silva‘s are free to create and score ,switching places during the game (same way Messi , Pedrito and Villa do). Perreyra is the rock of the mid (same as Busquets) while Canales plays the role of Daniel Alves in the opposite side. Defending solid Buckhart supports Neto and Pages in the defence the same way Guardiola forms Puyol , Pique and his DL.

A Very Fluid approach with shorter passing and lot of creativity is applied , while the attacking/defensive balance is achieved in both sides of play as the Left side is overcrowded with Canales coming from behind while Gourcouf comes as a hidden forward behind Marcio from the right to support Tiago Da Silva. In parallel Bukhart stays to form a defensive wall and oppose to any counter attacks when Barca lose the ball upfront.

After a really bad finish in the end of the league with one win – 3 draws and 2 defeats in the last 6 games , Barcalonika missed the objective of the Premiership title. As a result the club finished in the 3rd position of the TFA Premiership behind holders Inter Fat Wendy (2nd) and winners Wornesh Wonderers who finished 1st.

The last bad series of results was a result of a low morale after the defeat against fellow manager Nik Petsas of G700 6 games before the end. G.Wise tried to overcome the morale by making some changes in the tactics , however the red cards (3 in the last 6 matches ) and the bad form of our canon Marcio Da Silva (he scored only one in the last 6 games , having 24 goals in the season) was the major factors for the tragic finish.

However , Barca returns in the UFFA Comps , winning a place in the UFFA Champions Cup after the two seasons eliminations in order to get back in the right track and try to bring some glory again in Nuevo Toumba.

After the end of the season , G.Wise announced the signing of Yohan Gourcuff , French wondermaker at the age of 29 , in order to add some more quality in the midfield , constructing a miracle duo along with our physical leader Vuckic.

According to rumors , G.Wise will try to sign one more GW wonderkid as it seems that Kramaric is on the go despite his great season so that the roster will be ready again to apply a lone striker tactic.

After the mid-season crisis of the team , it seems that the roster changes affected positively the results and the overall performance. 6 straight wins in the league , one among them was against holder team Inter Fat Wendy with an epic 4-0 . Croatian Trequartista Andrej Kramaric was one of the major factors of the scenery change. He came to play the upfront playmaker role next to striker Marcio Da Silva and he manage to perform a 7.6 with 5 assists and 2 goals in these 6 matches.

However one more great factor to this change was the utilization of an “underground Superstar” of the team , italian Mid Gianni Tagliatella . At his 21 years old , G.Wise decided to give him the primary support role of Vuckic in the midfield and the Italian paid back this confidence with some splendid performances during this run. His rating never went below 8 , serving 4 goals and scoring two more . Value for money for the kid as his wage is among the lowest in Barcalonika’s Senior roster and his reputation is still Well Known!

Once again G.Wise proved that he can work with low reputation players as long as they have the right attributes for a specific role.

Now Barcalonika is top of the league (22 games) with 8 points difference from the second Wornesh Wonderers ,however they have two more games to play (20 games)

And out of nowhere , Barcalonika loses the title of “Premier favourite” within 5 games time…. and now Barcalonika has to overcome this performance crisis to step up and challenge the league against 6 more teams that are close to the league battle. A really thrilling PREMIERSHIP after all as the table looks really amazing for the top 6-7 teams

The truth is that this drop in performance was triggered by an important change in the roster. Barcalonika’s probably most respectful talent Mateo Indelicato was sold to affiliate Argos ( which was the club that produced Indelicato) as the board decided that the wages had to be cut down and Mateo was paid 110K . This caused a havoc in Barcalonika’s attacking play that became even worst after the injuries of superstars Oviedo and Tkachuk.

G.Wise was desperate for the first time in season seeing his boys down in the dumps being concurred by a very low morale…. So he decided to make another big move trading world class mid Tkachuk (he was injured for another 7 matches) with BARCALONISTAS beloved Andrej Kramaric who was in the team that won the first Premier Title back in Season 6. The plan is to revert the tactic back in the creative 424 with Kramaric and Da Silva to form an unbeaten duo upfront.

After the great start in Season 9 , Barcalonika has to go on without one , maybe the most important midfielder. The new arrival , high waged Olexandar Tkachuk suffered a serious injury (harmstring) and he will be out for 17 matches! This means that Barcalonika will not have him for the majority of the season and the Ukranian will be available only for the last important games (cup semi-finals and finals if the team qualify and the last matches of Premier League).

This is a complete disaster financially as well as Tkachuk was paid by 150K being the most expensive contract of the roster and G.Wise forgot to put an insurance on him…

The Roster

Just before the launch of Season 9 , Barcalonika manage to secure the signing of one of the most talented and completed mids of the game , Ukranian Olexander Tkachuk after a complicated transfer deal that included 4 teams and giving away spanish wonderkid Suso as he was pretty similar with Barcalonika’s physical leader slovenian playmaker Vuckic. G.Wise also traded belarusian Striker Mironchik to affiliate club Argos F.C. (a trade that was included in the first official deal between the two clubs that featured wonderkid Oviedo) , so the intension of Barcalonika’s manager is to create a powerful mid and return to his favourite one striker formation keeping fabulous Da Silva upfront hoping that he will manage to achieve a similar season like season 8 (more than 1 goal per match ratio with an av. rating of 8+).

With Italian “tubed to be the next Roberto Baggio” Indelicato and the next best thing of Argentinian School Oviedo in the wings , G.Wise set up a 433 /451 formation with 3 complete mids in a 3-MC setup (Vuckic-Tkachuk-Perreyra). In the defence we have a new duo with 5star potential Janderson (cost of 8M) and one to watch argentinian Pages (cost of 4M) constructing a quick -complete defensive wall.The big bet is how Barcalonika will cope with the wage bill as the total wage balance is somewhere above 600K right now!

First Official Matches

The first matches in TFA Premier had been really decent for Barcalonika. The new tactic produced beautiful football with lot of goals and a great strike of 4 wins in a row. The team also manage to pass through the first 3 rounds of both cups (Upper Cup and FA Cup) with easy victories. After this remarkable start , we had a small drop in our performance which resulted in a 3 games without win (2 lost and 1 draw) however after some tactical changes the team manage to recover and win 2 more games in Premier , the one against our primary rival Wonersh Wonderers with an easy 3-0. The tactic seem to work perfect with a lone striker as Marcio Da Silva is already the first scorer of the league having in total 15 goals in 13 official games and an average of 8.05! Our captain Vuckic also performs out of this world with a 7.8 and one assist per match , while Alejandro Oviedo has a 7.9 with 13 assists and 5 goals in 16 official matches!
